Gaia Hostel exceeded my expectations with its cozy atmosphere, cleanliness, and friendly staff. It offers a great panoramic view and a breakfast far beyond the average for hostels. However, the size of the dorms and bathrooms might be a bit cramped, and the location can be challenging to reach by car, so be prepared to walk uphill.

This lovely hostel offers a warm atmosphere, stunning decorations, and excellent amenities. The rooftop common area is a delightful touch, and the homemade breakfasts are a real highlight. However, the steep hill leading back from the city center could be challenging for some. Overall, it’s a fantastic place that I can't wait to return to.

I stayed in the Douro Suite, which was beautifully appointed with a large, comfortable bed and an en suite bathroom. It even had a little balcony which I enjoyed.

Joao and Marta went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, accommodating our early arrival and helping us with tips on what to do in Porto. The personal touch with a glass of port wine and homemade cake upon arrival was a wonderful surprise.

The hostel is conveniently located just a short 10-15 minute walk from the city center, providing lovely views over the bridge and the city, albeit with a steep climb back.

Breakfast was a highlight of my stay, featuring an engaging group experience with delicious homemade cakes by Marta each morning. I loved chatting with Joao and the other guests.
